How to Wear Denim on Denim

how to wear

The fall season is right around the corner and we want to challenge you to try and step out of your fashion comfort zone a little this season! One way to try something new is putting some of your denim pieces together for a bold denim on denim look. Denim on denim, also known as the Canadian Tuxedo, was once seen by a lot of people as a fashion NO, but we see it as a fashion YES, YOU SHOULD BE WEARING DENIM ON DENIM and here is how…

keep darker denim on bottom

Try and keep your darker denim on bottom. Also keeping the denim more well fitted for you body type will be the most flattering way to rock the double denim trend!

DENIM ON DENIM (1)

add some texture

To make sure to keep the denim on denim trend interesting try adding different textured pieces! A great way to get in your textures are to add a snake skin shoe like these or a sherpa lined jean jacket!

2

try a statement shoe & tee

The denim doesn’t have to have all the spotlight! Put on your favorite tee and a bold shoe to try more of a rocker look. Similar washed denim can be a little tricky but with the right shoes and a dark band tee makes this whole outfit look well put together!

3

Add colorful pieces

Denim on denim is basically the same as wearing two neutral pieces together. Be sure to add all your favorite statement pieces to keep you from looking too monochromatic.  A well fitting jean skirt with a lighter washed chambray shirt is the perfect way to show off those bright shoes and accessories!

Throw on more neutrals

Plain and simple, fashion shouldn’t be difficult. Throw on a neutral shoe with a cute bralette and don’t over think it! You can have a trend-setter look with minimal effort when you throw on your double denim with other neutral pieces!
