It’s that time of the year again… back to school! Sure, like most people when I was in school I secretly enjoyed shopping for the usual school supplies: folders, notebooks, pencils, etc. But what really thrilled me was finding that perfect ensemble for the first day. There’s something about the first day of school that always felt like it held endless possibilities. New classes, new friends, new year, new me! Okay, so maybe I have always been the same girl with the same friends, but I’m sure you can relate to that feeling of excitement!
Whether you’re heading for high school or already a seasoned college veteran, I’m also sure that you have already put precious time and effort into selecting the perfect first day outfit. Just in case you haven’t, I’ve put together a few looks to provide some inspiration.
The Preppy Tomboy
Looking put together for your first day back to school doesn’t have to take a lot of effort. Trust me, I know the early morning still half asleep but trying to get dressed without looking like a slob struggle. For this look, I chose a Staccato plaid button up shirt and layered it under a Ginger G v-neck top. The bottoms are by Flying Monkey and if comfort is important to you, I highly suggest investing in a pair of these bottoms. The shoes I have chosen are a classic sneaker by Soda Shoes.
The Trendy Free Spirit
This look is for my girls who are up on the latest trends. If you’re this kind of girl, you know that fringe is huge this year! This outfit doesn’t require a lot of effort, but it does involve taking a fashion risk and I know some of you will be up for the challenge. The look I have put together includes an Aztec print Ginger G top layered with a faux suede Peach Love fringe vest. For the pants, I chose a light wash destructed Flying Monkey that would look great tucked into a pair of ankle booties.
No matter what your personal style is, I hope that now you feel a little more prepared to select your perfect back to school outfit! If you like what you see, you can shop for these looks and more at Glik’s.com!
