Kimonos: The Epitome of the Layering Piece

1

Who doesn’t love a good kimono (or three)? They are an AMAZING transitional piece that can take you through all of the seasons, they are cozy, AND they are super fun and flattering. So, we will go ahead and start by saying that you definitely need to invest in a few kimonos to switch up your looks all year round.

For starters, kimonos are so versatile since they come in infinite combinations of colors, lengths, short sleeve, long sleeve, patterns, and fabrics. This is our absolute favorite part about kimonos and is what makes them so great for year-round style.  They have the ability to make you feel fashionable, feminine, and cool, while still letting your personal style shine. The kimono is a staple piece in your wardrobe that can be easily incorporated into your personal, day-to-day style.

You can wear kimonos during the summer months by choosing a lightweight, floral kimono and pairing it with a basic tank or tee, ripped jean shorts, and your favorite summer sandals.  Or, throw a patterned kimono over your swim suit when you are headed to the pool for a cool, yet fabulous, look.  For the cooler months, rock a duster kimono that is toned with autumn colors, a tank or lightweight sweater, ripped (or clean!) skinny jeans, and your go-to heeled booties! This look is so great since you can also switch up the look by substituting your kimono for a cardigan! A timeless look for every season is throwing a kimono over your favorite sun dress! If it’s chilly, wear a pair of tights or leggings underneath to stay warm. Going for a night out look? Opt in for a silk or velvet kimono with a more tailored look, dark wash denim, and your best dancing heels!
