Hello! We wanted to introduce you all to one of the newest members of our Home Office family, Victoria Johnston. Victoria is from Glen Carbon, IL which is super close to our HQ. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Fashion Design & Marketing, which is perfect for her buying position! She is currently the Senior Assistant Buyer for Women’s Bottoms, Women’s Outerwear, Women’s Athletic, and State Specific Merchandise.
OUR HOME OFFICE IS MOVING, & we’re taking our distribution and fulfillment center along for the ride!!! Glik’s HQ has happily lived in Granite City, Illinois for the past 50+ years, and we are thankful for the friendships and for all the support we’ve received in Madison County through the years. However, we are ready to reach towards something new because we’ve outgrown our current office space!
We have been having so much fun getting to know the newest members of our Home Office buying team! Today we have the pleasure of introducing you to Courtney Dorsey, our newest Junior’s Assistant Buyer. Courtney helps to keep us on the front-line of fashion in Juniors Tops & Dresses, and we are so excited to have her on our team. She knows the needs our average customer on a personal level because she grew up in Bethalto, Illinois. Courtney also graduated from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville with a Business Management Degree, and has always had a love for fashion. With her small-town background, and her edgy personal style, she was the perfect missing piece for our buying team, and we already love what she’s been able to add to our sales floors!
Elliot is one of our newest H.O. members, and he is also the first of the fifth generation of the Glik family to start working for the company. We are so excited to give you the 411 on what he will be up to at Glik’s as a buyer! Here’s a little bit of background: Elliot grew-up in St. Louis, MO and for those of you locals who are dying to know, he went to Clayton High School, and then he graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelors Degree in Apparel and Merchandising as well as a Minor in Business.
It's the beginning of a new year as well as a new decade, and we are so excited about all the newest trends that we're seeing! Since there is so much newness coming our way, I thought it would be fun to interview our buying team to see what they thought would be big in their area of expertise for the coming year. This year we celebrated with 32 different VIP events throughout the company, a bunch of our stores wrapped their customer's gifts for free, and all of our associates are dressed to the nines in order to spark fashion inspiration for all visitors who walk in their doors! Just in case you didn’t know, Glik’s is a family-owned company that was founded back in 1897. Four generations later, with 68 beautiful brick and mortar stores throughout the Midwest (soon to be 69) and a fast fashion website, we are so excited to announce that we are still thriving at year 122! Since this is a pretty big milestone, we wanted to celebrate this year with a BANG!! For our 122nd Anniversary, we have sales, giveaways, and fun surprises to keep this party running strong, two weeks long. In this blog we will break down all of our special events, sales and more so you can know all you need to in order to celebrate with us in style.
We are excited to introduce you to Abby Meyer, our new Assistant Buyer of Crossover Clothing! Originally from Hillsboro, Illinois, Abby started with Glik’s as an associate at our Edwardsville, Illinois location. She loved the company and the atmosphere that Glik’s holds as well as being able to help people face to face in the store. While working at our Edwardsville location, Abby was studying to get her degree in Fashion Merchandising and Retail Management from Stevens Institute in St. Louis!
We are so excited to introduce you to Anna Cerimele, our newest Assistant Accessory Buyer at Glik’s! From the hometown of Saline, Michigan, Anna grew up with her pet cat, Lasslow, and a young love for dance (jazz & ballet) that she carried through her college years. In May of 2019, she graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and a minor in Marketing. Soon after graduation, she accepted her position with Glik’s and moved to the St. Louis area in order to start her new chapter in the fashion industry!
We wanted to give a shoutout to one of our newest assistant buyers at HQ: Nicholas Sullivan! Nick recently graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and a Minor in Professional Sales. Nick’s hometown is Mukegon, MI and was thrilled to accept an assistant buying position at our Home Office near St. Louis, MO.

Emily recently graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Fashion Merchandising. Emily is from the great city of Rockford, MI, but was extremely eager to accept an assistant buying position at our Home Office near St. Louis, MO. She has been so grateful for her entire experience so far since she has always wanted to be a buyer in fashion!
