Winning Game Day Outfit Ideas

College football season is now in full swing and admittedly, that means almost to nothing to me. I couldn’t tell you the difference between a first down and a field goal, but I do appreciate all the game day fashions (ohhh and the tailgating food)! However, I know some of you ladies out there take your game day attire just as seriously as the guys take the games, so I’ve put together a little outfit inspiration to make sure you are game day ready!

Depending on what school you go to, game day outfits range from t-shirts and jeans to dresses and pearls.

Plaid dress for game day

If you are going to take a dressier approach, it’s always fun to find a dress in your school colors. I’m loving this plaid Love Stitch Clothing shirt dress paired with a Thread and Supply quilted vest. Not only do these pieces come together for an adorable game day outfit, but you’ll most definitely be able to wear them again.

Boots for game day

Now, let’s take a second to appreciate these boots.

Casual game day outfit

If your tailgating style is more relaxed, you can’t go wrong with a fun graphic t-shirt and a plaid scarf. This look is for all of my girls who don’t want to sacrifice their comfort for style, especially when trying to get their grub on before the game.

Lauren James Mizzou shirt

All my laid-back ladies, you can still add some personality to your comfortable game day style. An easy way to do that is rocking embellished denim like these Rock Revival Jeans.

Your footwear choice for the day is just as important as the rest of your outfit. Not only do these fringe boots have personality, but they are also comfy enough to take you from tailgating to the game to the after party.

No matter what school you go to or what your style is, the important thing is to show your support for your school and of course, have fun!

Fringe | Looking Ahead to Fall 2015

Fringe has been an inescapable trend since the early 1920’s and looking ahead to fall 2015, fringe is coming full force. For the upcoming season, it has undoubtedly evolved into a modern look that can be found on shoes, apparel, accessories, and more. Yes, it can feel a bit intimidating to try and rock a trend with so much personality, but I’ve got you covered with a few essential pieces from Glik’s.

If you’re feeling hesitant, the key to getting comfortable with this trend is to invest in garments that feel fun, yet sophisticated like our Love Stitch Carys Fringed Shawl Sweater. Not only is it a great piece for layering, but it allows you to try the trend without feeling too costumey.

Fringe Skirt Fringe Skirt

If you’re feeling a bit more bold, a fringe skirt is something to embrace. What I love about these skirts from Glik’s is the versatility that they offer. You can let your skirt do the talking and pair it with an understated button up or you can take your look to another level by wearing a fringe skirt with a statement sweater.

If you’re looking to try this trend in a smaller dose, fringe footwear is a way to easily clinch your fall outfit game. I suggest our Soda Shoes Jervis Fringe Closed Toe Booties because not only are they comfortable, but they can also add a touch of personality to a simple outfit.

Fringe purse

Another definite keeper is this Mini Fringe Backpack Purse. Both functional and trendy, I love this piece because it is effortlessly cool and incredibly fun.

The Fringe Benefits of Fall: Fringe Fashion

Fringe fashion pieces are making their way into our closets this fall both through subtle detailing and full-blown fringe designs. Seen on boots, scarves, and our trusty fall cardigan, we can’t get enough of this charming fall trend.

Here are a few of our favorite fall fringe pieces this year:

1. Fringe Moccasin Boots

These trendy boots are surprisingly easy to pair with nearly everything in your closet if you have an open and creative sense of style. We received this tall Fringe Moccasin Boot in black, taupe, and cognac this year. The Charles Albert Fringe Moccasin Boots are the HOT item for this fall because we can’t keep these lovelies in stock!

2. Fringe Scarves fringe fashion scarf

Infinity or traditional, scarves are full of life this fall with beautiful prints, creative knits, and of course FRINGE! Our favorite this season is the Open Knit Infinity Scarf. This single barrel infinity scarf goes over your head and you style the fringe accordingly. I know. So simple you could cry.

The boho style is still thriving, and it makes its way into our wardrobes this fall with subtle and chic fringed bottom cardigans and sweaters. This fashion trend comes in any print, fabric, and construction. Glik’s has open front flyaway cardigans, sheer kimonos, and oversized ponchos that feature fringe along the bottom.

The Fringe Benefits of Fall: Fringe Fashion

Fringe + Bell Sleeves= Fall Boho

The fall Boho style can be created simply by combining the fall trends of fringe and bell sleeves. These trends are a must if you want to unleash your inner Boho babe.

Finding fringe this fall won’t be difficult, but you don’t have to be decked out in fringe from head to toe to create a Bohemian look. Subtle doses of fringe will do the trick. Sweaters and cardigans with fringe have become popular and are a great addition to your fall wardrobe. Afraid to fully commit to the fringe trend? You can start with accessories or shoes. Glik’s has awesome fringe boots that will really add Boho to your style. You can also add a fringe scarf or fringe jewelry to your outfit to embrace the fringe craze.

What We’re Wearing for Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving I’m in the mood for wearing layers to make the day a bit cozier.  I love the Uri Sweater from BB Dakota because it’s loose/flowy fit and all over southwestern pattern is eye catching. I’ve teamed a dark wash pair of Suki Jeggings with the multicolor BB Dakota sweater because I love the mid-rise, relaxed through the hip & thigh fit that this Silver Jeans Co. denim boasts.  The 78% Cotton/ 20% Polyester/ 2% Spandex fabric content of this jegging provides just enough stretch to add an extra helping of turkey to my plate (this girl likes to go for seconds). To complete this relaxed holiday look,  I have decided to add a boho chic pair of fringe ankle boots like the Wynonna Boot from Sbicca and our Bullseye Cuff (love).

Creating a new outfit for Thanksgiving is always fun and adds an extra dash of happy to an already great day! I’ve chosen to wear the loose layers because who knows…  after  a day filled with a lot of food and drinks, I’ll most likely be a fashionably stuffed turkey myself.  What are you planning to wear to Thanksgiving?
