It’s already that time of the year again… THANKSGIVING! Can you believe!? With family traditions, shopping, great food, and holiday cheer, Thanksgiving is the kick off for the holiday season. With all of the busyness and chaos that revolves around Thanksgiving week, we wanted to put together a few outfit ideas for you! Keep reading to see four head-to-toe looks that will leave you cozy, stylish, and wanting each item for your wardrobe.

1. Shredded Sweaters

main-strip-outfitSweater weather is definitely here, so obviously this is a go-to look for the holidays. Statement sweaters are the perfect item to incorporate into your wardrobe.  We went with this shredded v-neck sweater from Main Strip. We ADORE this sweater so much, that we carry it in FOURTEEN (14!) colorways for you to choose from! We paired the sweater with an ultra-stretchy and soft pair of flared jeans.  These flare jeans from Cello Jeans are so great for the holidays because they have a pull on construction (fashionable look with a legging feel) so eat all of the turkey and stuffing you want! Complete the look with a lace bralette and a pair of neutral heeled booties, like these from Qupid Shoes!

2. Dainty Dresses

everly-outfitThis next look goes out to all you trendy girls out there. This corduroy dress from Everly Clothing is a timeless piece that features a delicate button front detail. (SWOON) This dress can easily be styled to suit your unique looks, but we decided to pair it with a trendy pair of leopard booties! We love how the animal print dresses the look down a bit, but if you wanted to dress it up, throw on a pair of sheer tights and heeled ankle booties or a pair of over the knee boots. Since the temperatures are dropping at this time of the year, you’ll need a dependable, yet fashionable, jacket! Snag this fur lined corduroy jacket from Thread & Supply and you’ll never want to take it off.

3. Sleepy Sherpas

threadsupply-outfitLet’s face it, this is what the majority of us will wear (or dream of wearing) on any holiday! (Let alone any day of the year, but that’s a battle for another blog post. 😉 ) This outfit will let you stuff your face with as much food as your heart desires, followed by a nap wherever you land, and then you will 100% wear the look on repeat weekly.  Our Thread & Supply Lazy Sunday sherpa pullover is the hottest item, so you’ll FOR SURE want one in each color. Sherpa pullovers are what dreams are made of; they’re like a soft blanket you can wear in public without being judged. We paired it with one of our many graphic tees from Charlie Southern that we are quite literally obsessed with and a pair of black fleece lined leggings. Finish this snuggly look with a high-quality pair of Sperry Duck Boots!

4. Charming Cardigans

lovestitch-outfitThis final look is definitely for when you want to look like you made an effort in how you look for the holidays, without sacrificing any comfort. This Love Stitch Clothing popcorn cardigan is sooo buttery soft and comes in multiple colors. It is extremely warm and such a great investment since you can wear it as a fashion piece and as outerwear! We layered it over one of our Wishlist Clothing bodysuits, which needs to become a staple in your year-round wardrobe if it isn’t already. Complete the look with a pair of versatile denim jeans, like these from Nature Jeans, and a pair of tall boots, like these from MIA Shoes.

How to Wear Flared Jeans

Now is the time for 1970’s fashion to come back in style! First step, flare jeans. But wait, what do you wear with this type of denim? Keep reading to find out how we like to style our flared denim!

Like any type of denim, it’s essential to make sure they fit your body type. This being said, hem those flared jeans! (Don’t just shy away from them!) Also, try switching it up by wearing a pair of cropped flairs or overalls with flared culottes. These trendy pieces will be sure to turn heads in any season.

Below we have shown these awesome pairs of flares that we just adore! KanCan Jeans and O2 Denim Jeans have so much to offer and they won’t break the bank!

Once you’ve got your perfect pair of flared jeans, what are you going to wear them with? From daytime casual to nightly outings, these jeans can do it all! For a casual vibe, try pairing your flared jeans with a cropped sweater or a short sleeve or long sleeve tee! (We have listed our picks below!) With flare jeans, don’t be afraid to show off that belt! Being able to accessorize is what makes these jeans so great, but the added flare kicks up your look a notch.  If it gets a little chilly, add an anorak jacket or long blazer to your look.

For a dressier appearance, look for styles with statement sleeves and prints. We picked these styles (below) that are perfect for spring and summer outings! The floral print and flowy fit are super trendy and accentuate your waist while the jeans elongate your legs! The bell sleeves pair perfectly with flare jeans and completely show off that boho inspired look you’ve been searching for.

Shoes are another decision you’ll have to make. We prefer wearing heels when it comes to flared jeans, but don’t be afraid to wear flats as long as the denim fits you right! Chunky wedges and ankle booties look fantastic as they peep out from under the flared hemline. If you’re daring enough to wear the flats or sandals, try going for a pair of cropped flares, or just make sure your hemline isn’t dragging on the ground.

Denim Fit Guide- Finding the Perfect Fit

Raise your hand if you dread shopping for jeans!

If you could see me now, you’d see that I have both hands up. Don’t get me wrong, I love shopping but shopping for jeans is my least favorite thing to do. With so many different fits and washes, a girl can easily get overwhelmed and feel defeated. However, blue jeans will always remain a yearlong wardrobe staple, so finding a pair that flatters your figure is definitely important. To lessen your frustration when shopping this season, I’ve put together a denim fit guide.

If you’re petite…

If you have a small frame and shorter legs, I suggest that you invest in a pair of skinny jeans. A skinny cut will not only flatter your shape, but it will give the illusion of lengthening your legs! Bonus! I love the Flying Monkey Premium Medium Wash Skinny for petite girls. I personally deal with the short girl struggle, and I love that these Flying Monkeys can be easily rolled and cuffed to my liking.

If you’re curvy…

Curvy girls should rock jeans that show off their curves in all the right places. Don’t shy away from jeans that hug your figure, just make sure that they highlight your best assets and flatter your not-so-favorite features. For a curvy girl, Silver Suki jeans are the way to go. Personally, I love the Silver Jeans Suki Mid Rise Skinny. These Silver jeans have a well-defined curve from the waist to the hip and the dark wash provides a slimming effect.

If you’re athletic…

Denim Fit Guide Jeans for Athletic Body Type

It’s all about creating curves! Girls with toned, athletic bodies are a lucky bunch but when choosing a flattering pair of jeans, it is important to balance out a boyish silhouette. This balance can be found by choosing a pair of flared jeans. I’m slightly obsessed with the Flying Monkey Jeans Dark Wash Flare. These jeans will be fitted around your thighs and rear, but more relaxed in the calf and ankle areas.

Your best bet for finding a pair of jeans that you love, and look good on you, is to try on different styles and see what you feel most comfortable in. No matter your body type, I hope that after reading my denim fit guide you can now confidently shop for denim without second guessing yourself. Honestly girls, a pair of jeans that legitimately flatters your figure will always be in style, even while other trends come and go.
