Time to pack away those sandals and flip flops.
Boot season is here!
At the beginning of fall, I always have the hardest time trying to find the perfect pair of shoes to wear. It’s too chilly to wear sandals but not cold enough to bring out the big tall boots! Last year, I fell in love with booties and I can not wait to buy more!
Booties are seriously the perfect shoes for the transition from summer to fall. Turn your favorite summer dress into a fall dress by adding a cardigan or denim jacket and a pair of booties. My go to outfit for this time of year is a lightweight sweater, my favorite pair of jeans and booties.
This fall we are running weekly sales on some of our booties. This week the Charles Albert Rainy Booties in Taupe and Black were the Shoe of the Week. They are regularly $29.90 but are only $19.90 this week!

As the weather changes so will your wardrobe. It’s time to pack up the tank tops and shorts, and pull out the sweaters and boots. One thing I don’t want to pack up though are my dresses! I love dresses and I am always trying to find ways to style them for the fall. I’ve taken our favorite Piko Swing Dress and styled it three different ways for fall.
Layer it with a blanket scarf
If you don’t have a Piko dress in your closet, I recommend changing that immediately. Piko dresses are so simple and go perfectly with just about anything. When it comes to layering, Piko dresses will be your go to item. Throw a jacket or vest over your dress for a comfortable but yet flattering look. I’ve layered my striped Piko dress with a plaid blanket scarf. Don’t be afraid to mix your prints!
Plaid is the must have staple piece for fall. You can never have too many plaid button down shirts! There are many different ways to wear a plaid shirt, you can layer it under a vest, wear it open with a V-neck tee or tie it around your waist with a dress. I took a solid color Piko Dress and tied a plaid shirt around my waist to add a pop of color to my outfit. Some would call this outfit the tomboy look, but I’ve paired it with peep toed booties for a sassier look. Trade out those booties for a pair of Converse to rock the Tomboy look!
Accessories can really make an outfit pop! I’ve taken one of my Piko Tops, this time Army Green, and added some of my favorite accessories to compete the perfect outfit for a Saturday night! Top this Piko Dress off with a hat, a long necklace, and booties for a simple look that everyone will love.
One of our favorite trends is the fringe trend. Besides loving the fringe details on clothing, handbags, and accessories, we especially love fringe on footwear. Fringe Footwear has a way of taking an ordinary outfit and elevating it to become a Boho chic ensemble.
Whether you are reminiscing about the 70’s fashion trends or experiencing fringe fashion for the first time, you will love fringe footwear. You can wear fringe booties to work, school, shopping, or during a night out on the town. You can wear the fringe sandals to be the focal point of your outfit or you can wear them to add instant style and trendiness to your outfit.
You don’t have to be a cowgirl to rock Western style boots. Western boots look amazing with dresses and jeans alike. They are a key factor is pulling off the hippie/bohemian style that is so popular today. Western style boots look particularly good with lace, fringe, or printed tops.
Combat boots are great to have in your wardrobe because they can be styled so many ways. These boots lend an edgy, up-to-date look to so many outfits, and are versatile enough to be paired with anything from jeans to dresses or shorts. There is also no limit to when you can wear combat boots because they are in style every season of the year.
Every girl needs a pair of tall riding boots in her wardrobe. Riding boots transform a variety of different outfits from trendy to chic. They are also practical because their height helps keep you warm during the fall and winter!
A subtle way to follow the boot trend is to rock a pair of casual ankle boots. They look ever-so-stylish with a pair of skinny jeans or jeggings. Ankle boots or booties are great if you want to make your legs appear longer and the slight heel makes your legs look amazing.
It is essential to have a pair of dress boots in your closet for special events and occasions where casual boots just won’t cut it, i.e. date nights. It is very appropriate, especially during the fall, to wear dress boots with dresses and skirts when more elegant fare is required.
We are slowly but surely transitioning over into a new season. Despite all of this crazy Midwest weather that we’ve been experiencing, our heavy, cold climate apparel is being packed away to make room for lighter layers.
At some point as you start packing and unpacking you start to think about what add-ons you need to have in your wardrobe to complete your summer outfits. Personally I usually buy accessories, like a few new bracelets and rings, a super versatile pair of summer heels, flats and sandals, a light scarf, and a good jacket that I can transition easily amongst my outfits.
Once you find your essential add-ons creating a summer look will be easy. Below are a few of my newest add-on additions.
