Valentine's Day Date Night Ideas

Valentine's Day Date Night Ideas

For this year's Valentine's Day (or Galentine's Day/Palentine's Day/whatever you want to call it) we're looking for new ideas on how we can have a great time at home. Whether you're planning to spend the day by yourself or with a special someone, we are hoping that you'll like some of the activities that we put together for this blog. From our team to you, we hope that you'll have a wonderful February 14th!

Movie Night Valentine's Day Blog

It's 2021, so we all have some form of streaming service. Whether you prefer Hulu, Disney+, Netflix, or any of the brand new launches of streamed entertainment, there are plenty of movies to find that would make for a wonderful Movie Night date. Here's a list we found that we thought had some great options including new releases!  If for some reason you don't have the option to stream, stop at your local Redbox or movie rental location for this date night option! However, we don't want you to just cuddle up on the couch and watch a movie. That's just not going to cut it this time! Grab your coziest blankets & pillows to create the comfiest seating arrangement possible. Also, make sure to stop at your local grocery store to pick up some candy and drinks so you can have an authentic movie-theater-at-home experience. While you're there, pick up all the ingredients you need to make these epic homemade popcorn recipes:

The Best Homemade Movie Theater Popcorn Recipe - 1/2c of popcorn kernels, 2 tbsp. of coconut oil, 1/2 tbsp of ghee (also called clarified butter-vegan butter so doesn't weigh down the popcorn and make it soggy with animal fat), salt to taste.

The Ranch Popcorn Edit - 1/2 teaspoon of each: dried dill, dried chives, garlic powder, onion powder. 1/4 teaspoon of salt and pepper.  This ranch recipe is from Sarah Bond aka @liveatlearn and she has other options listed here if you don't enjoy ranch.

(Both of these 🍿 recipes were recommended by our own Alyson Woods!)

Dance Lessons Valentine's Day Date Night Ideas Blog

We've learned how to do so many things from home this year, so why not add dancing to that list? 💃🏼🕺🏼 Whether you're learning a few new moves to bring out on girl's night or you're wanting to wow your friends at the next wedding you're invited to, these videos will help you learn some of the basics right from your living room. Want to make the experience more romantic? Make sure you and your partner dress up a little bit and put out some candles (safely away from the dance floor please!) to create a date night ambiance. Here are a few styles we thought would be fun to try this Valentine's Day:

Date night valentine's day surprise dinner

This idea has to be our favorite out of the entire bunch because it's perfect for a couple, a group of friends, or a family setting! The concept is this: Dinner ordered from different places and delivered. 😍 Someone orders an appetizer from one place, someone else orders the entrée from another & so on. Door Dash, Uber Eats, Grub Hub, etc. You pick the delivery service and get to ordering! Now you can have your favorite sides from Chili's with your favorite dessert from Applebee's all at the same meal! We recommend trying this with the use of some free delivery fee codes since you'll be receiving more than one delivery. However, we think this idea is an innovative way to create a unique dinner spread without having to cook. You can try out a bunch of new places all at once and rate your favorites by the end of the night! Everyone will end up with something they like, and the whole experience will be fun and special for the entire group.

Easy Crafts for Valentine's Day

Not everyone enjoys crafting, but if you do, some easy projects will make for a fun and relaxing night! Put on some fun tunes, wear some clothes you're not afraid to get glue or paint on, and grab out your crafting gear to make something together that you can admire for the rest of the month. If you don't know where to start, try a simple craft kit from your local craft store. Here are a few examples:

- Design a Cute Ceramic Mug!

- Create Matching Tie Dye T-Shirts!

Valentine's Day Bake-off

It wouldn't be a holiday without a little bit of friendly competition and yummy treats, right? First you'll have to decide on a sweet prize for the winner. That prize could be a gift card for a local favorite coffeehouse or restaurant, or a homemade coupon booklet. Then choose what kinds of cookies you're going to create in order to win the prize! You can grab one of these cookie decorating kits, or make this easy recipe for cookies, and let the bake-off begin! 🍪 (You could also obviously take the competitive aspect out of this date night idea and just create yummy cookies together.)

We hope you liked some of these date night ideas and that you'll be able to try one of them out this Valentine's Day. ❤ We're going for the movie night idea because we just can't get over how yummy those popcorn recipes are! 😋 If you try out some dance lessons, or try any of these ideas and post about it on social, make sure to tag us @gliksofficial so we can see your new moves, or congratulate you on your beautiful cookie masterpieces!
