2020 has been the year of NEW: new routines, new normals, new emotions, etc. So, what better time than now to introduce you all to our newest member of the buying team, Alli Phaup! Alli is from Columbia, Missouri and graduated from Mizzou with a degree in Textile and Apparel Management with an emphasis in Marketing & Merchandising & Product Development! Also, while finishing up her college career at Mizzou, Alli worked at our Columbia, MO boutique location as the Assistant Manager. She loved the hands-on experience of working in the retail store and helping the customers pick out that perfect outfit for her next event (or every-day attire). Alli also made a frequent appearance on the Glik's Columbia Instagram page (@glikscolumbia) showing off the latest looks they had received in store 😉
We are so grateful that Alli made the move from Columbia to St. Louis, MO after graduating in May. She now holds the position of Assistant Buyer of Accessories at our Home Office -- and although she hasn't been able to travel to any shows lately to meet with vendors face to face -- she is eager to learn the back-end of the buying process first. Alli is also super excited about having the responsibility to pick out the merchandise we will sell in our stores based on what she likes and what she thinks (hopes) our customers will like!
Since she's new to the Lou, Alli hasn't had tons of time to explore the city but so far her favorite attraction is The St. Louis Zoo! When she's not working or finding new spots in her new home, Alli loooves to sew & embroider! She enjoys sewing everything from bags, to clothes, and now masks. She also loves all things art and drawing (we recommended the Art Museum for her to stop by in STL too!), relaxing in the morning, and long distance running. Honestly, from a St. Louisan's standpoint, it sounds like Forest Park is right up her alley 😊
Alli is obviously into fashion, so we had to ask her a few style-related questions to gather some insight. First of all, she let us know that her overall style really changes day to day- leaning mostly towards those flirty and feminine details while sometimes incorporating an edgy twist. Speaking of, her favorite fashion trend currently is pairing Doc Martens (or combat boots) with mini dresses or skirts! She really finds most of her fashion inspiration from Pinterest and Instagram and told us she thinks that mini clutches and bags are going to make the next comeback. We can't say we disagree!

Favorite Color: Light Pink 💕
Favorite Food: Veggie Pizza
Pets: 2 Cats & 3 Dogs (Luckily her cats were able to make the move and live with her in STL, while the dogs stayed home with the rest of her family.)
Salty or Sweet: Salty -- but her go-to snack are banana chips! 🍌
Traveler or Homebody: Traveler! She loves road trips and her dream destination is to explore Iceland one day.
Speaking of road trips...Alli named her first car, a red Jeep Liberty, Tessa!
Fun Fact: Alli had the amazing opportunity to intern as a Bridal Consultant Assistant at Kleinfeld's Bridal in New York last Summer! Each day she was assigned to work with a different Consultant and helped with anything they, or the brides/clients, needed. (All of us are very jealous about this!)
If she had to be an ice cream flavor, she would be: Rocky Road!
If she could be any color or print, she would choose: Leopard print 🐆, because it is playful & neutral at the same time.
If she had to sing karaoke RIGHT NOW, she would pick: Single Ladies by Beyonce 💁♀️
